![]() ![]() The electromagnetic spectrum covers a wide range of frequencies, most of which (with the notable exception of the visual spectrum) is not detectable by human senses. However, this leaves quite a large range of possibilities for communication that is not detectable by human senses. Since such tropes as "psionic radiation" or "mental waves" that can be transmitted from one human to another have been not been shown to be anything more than fairy tales by science, we cannot presuppose that they exist for another species. The question also specifies evolution of such an ability, so this would imply that it is of biological, not technological origin. That leaves some form of communication not detectable by human senses, though not necessarily some form of communication not detectable by human technology. But on the other hand, it also means extra influence to relocate pops and Hiveminds already get less influence than everyone else due to not having factions.Telepathy is defined as "Transfer of information on thoughts or feelings between individuals by means other than the five classical senses". Sedentary: Hiveminds pops don't seem to migrate at all, so on on hand, migration time is irrelevant. ![]() :P )ĭecadent, Solitary and other happiness penalty traits: Free points basically, only costing being one of the picks. Repugnant: Basically free points if you plan to handle your diplomacy at the point of a gun, since the happiness modifier for other species is irrelevant (any species in your empire that cares about happiness is going to be eaten, so they will be incredibly unhappy anyway. Of course, that's only if you do want a early wide expansion strategy, which might not always be the case. Mind you, it's a bit of an issue on the late game, but then again, hiveminds will likely go for the bioengineering ascensions, meaning they can eventually remove positive traits once they get the habitability researches done and/or create subspecies for each environment. ![]() While Hiveminds still get a few benefits from habitability (specifically, pop growth speed depends on habitability, but that's not that big anyway). Super adaptable is great for early expansion if you are going for a wide build. ![]()
